Thursday final ratings: CW’s ‘Reign’ may be short

Thursday final ratings: CW’s ‘Reign’ may be short

The numbers:

  • Highest-rated genre show on TV last night was CW’s The Vampire Diaries with a 1.3 in the 18-49 year old demo.
  • Once Upon a Time in Wonderland got a 1.1
  • Reign got a 0.6.

The new bad news is for Reign in that that night’s target demo of women 18-35, Reign‘s 0.7 lost more than half of TVD‘s 1.8 lead in – despite heavy promotion. Sure, it’s a tough time slot … but CW has better shows awaiting mid-season time slots.

The old bad news is that OUATW‘s rating continues to be lower than a CW show, which means there is zero chance this show is renewed. If ABC keeps it on the schedule after next week and continues airing it during Sweeps, take that as a sign the network has written off Thursday at 8 p.m.

The Good news… Vampire Diaries is a shoo-in for a 6th season with these numbers.
