Andromeda Strain tops cable ratings for 2008

It appears that A&E has a future in science fiction. The station best known for its non-fiction programs and repeats of CSI: Miami set cable ratings records this past Memorial Day weekend with an updated version of Andromeda Strain.

According to Multichannel News:

Over its two-day debut, The Andromeda Strain, based on the best-selling novel from Michael Crichton and starring Benjamin Bratt, Eric McCormack, Ricky Schroder, Andre Braugher, Christa Miller, Daniel Dae Kim and Viola Davis, averaged a 3.65 household rating, 4.9 million viewers, 2.4 million 18-to-49 watchers, and 2.7 million adults 25 to 54.

If you missed the two-part show, it repeats this weekend in four-hour blocks on A&E both Saturday and Sunday night.
